June 1, 2001, Mr. JIANG Zemin, the general secretary of the Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party paid an inspection visit to Hongdu Aviation, and examined General Assembly Factory, heard reports on research, production and operation situations and made important directions.Mr. JIANG Zemin inquired the production and performance of K8 aircraft and sat in the control cabin in person. The accompanying persons are Mr. ZENG Qinghong, the director of the Office Department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, MENG Jianzhu, the secretary of Chinese Communist Party Jiangxi Provincial Committee, HUANG Zhiquan, the governor of Jiangxi Province, and some other leaders of relative state departments.

At the work site, Ms. WU Yi inquired about production and export status of K8 aircraft in details and happily boarded onto the staircase and observed the control cabin, and in the end she had gladly a photography taken together with ZHANG Yanzhong, the general manager of No.2 Group Co. of China Aviation, TIAN Min, the general manager of Hongdu Aviation Group, SHI Ping, the chief designer of K8 aircraft in front of the aircraft.
