N5B New Type of Agriculture & Forest Aircraft

Brief The N5B aircraft is a new type of agriculture & forest aircraft developed by Jiangxi Hongdu Aviation Industry Co., Ltd based on the research of the home and abroad market. It takes the advantages of N5A aircraft, such as easy to operate and maintain, economical and safety; what’s more, the N5B aircraft has developed greatly on structure, payload, comfort and other aspects to satisfy the customers’ requirements. N5B aircraft successfully achieved made its maiden flight on Doc.28th, 2006. N5B aircraft is a single-engine, single pilot, low-wing monoplane with fixed tail-wheel-type landing gear. It is powered with a M601F turboprop engine manufactured by Walter Engines a.s. ?located in Czech Republic, which uses aviation kerosene as fuel and the take-off power is 777 HP, maximum cruise power is 670 HP. The full load service ceiling can reach up to 6000m, thus offering the aircraft an excellent operation performance on plateau and secondary highland.

Humanistic design makes the hard agriculture and forestry operation become simpler and more comfortable. The enlarged cockpit room lets both pilot and his back participant feel ease, the optimized aeration and heating system through the cockpit makes the crew more comfortable no matter how hot in summer or chill winter, the customer can also choose cockpit air-condition system to create an operation environment as comfortable as that in a luxurious car. The wings can by removed for road transportation to avoid the endless trouble arising out of long distance ferry to make the working time more flexible and lower the cost greatly.

Regarding building a green homeland as our own responsibility and the environmental protection to show practically in each design. To avoid air and soil pollution, a surplus oil collecting tank is installed to collect the leaked from fuel boost pump or fuel controller pipe. While spraying, the drug liquid excursion area would be minimized by hedgehopping, GPS orientation and advanced spraying equipments.

Make great effect to increase the customers’ operation value. Make full use of the aircraft, the customers will benefit more from the N5B. The payload is 1.5T. The key agricultural equipments are selected from well-received overseas products to meet the needs of spraying fluid in extreme low, low and normal quantities and spreading dust in huge quantities and do the work of forest fire prevention and firefighting operation. It can throws down 1500kg (400 gallons) extinguishant within 5 seconds, the liquid reaching ground not less than 0.5kg/m2, dusting operation can realize 15kg/mu (200 lbs/acre) and 5kg/mu (8 gallon/acre) for spraying. In average, the benefited area could be 2000mu/hour. When operating, aviation kerosene consumption is 175kg/h and only one pilot and one ground service person is needed, thus the operation cost is very low.

N5B aircraft is majoring in seeding, fertilizing, weeding, insects killing, flying and spreading to create forest, protecting forest, fire fighting and etc., it can also be utilized to perform public security patrolling, disaster overcome commanding, aerial telemeter and photographing, film and TV show production, adverting and other aspects.
